2919, 21 Dec 2022

Mark Sullivan’s funeral/memorial service and eulogy/celebration of life will be held on January 13, 2023 (Friday) at St. Michael Catholic Church & School, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN  46140.

Thanks and please advise.

JT

We are heartbroken to announce to you the passing of Mr. Mark Sullivan, Army Financial Services senior financial manager.  Mark was a devout husband, father, friend and professional, and his family asked us to pass along this incredibly sad news.

Mark retired from active duty as a Command Sergeant Major after more than 22 years before joining our civilian ranks for the last 13 years. During that time, he lived out the very best of our motto, “Service to Soldiers.”

Mark had just finished his most recent professional success as the RAFINO VP for Reunions and the highly successful reunion in Indianapolis.

He passed away after a brief, but tough battle with metastatic melanoma cancer at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas where he was receiving the best possible care. His cremains will return home to Indiana for a future memorial service, and we will be sure to let you know the details when they are available.

Mark is survived by his wife Rosalinda, daughter Annica, his sisters Cindy, Judy and Chris, and brother Anthony.

Please keep Mark’s family, friends and coworkers in your thoughts and prayers, especially as we enter this holiday season. Fittingly, though, as we mourn the loss of our friend, we remain eternally grateful for his legacy of service to our Army and to RAFINO.

Known for his unmatched financial management knowledge and dedication to volunteerism, he recently received national recognition from the Association of the U.S. Army for his service to the Army and his community. I am very thankful to have served with Mark in the 266th S3, 1994-96.  Talked to him a few times very early when we identified Indy/FBH as the 2022 Reunion location.  Was great chatting with him at the reunion; and in his last month.  Mary and I share our condolences with Rosalinda and Mark's family and friends.  RIP Mark, I will see you again in our forever bodies !!!  Kevin

Further comments received via email:

Very sad news, indeed. Mark and I met in 1989 when we attended BNCOC together and have been buddies ever since. I rest easier knowing that I was able to see and talk to him at the reunion, without knowing it, for the last time...

This is one of the reasons I attend these reunions... you never know if you are going to see your friends the next time there is a reunion.

Very sad news...  CSM Mark Sullivan, one of our 2022 Reunion Managers in Indianapolis, passed away after a short fight with cancer.  Mark was a member of the Finance Corps family and an outstanding individual both in and outside the US Army.  I just met Mark for the first time at the Indianapolis Reunion.  As Reunion coordinator along with JT Sablan, he was the perfect host and made all of us who attended the Reunion feel very welcomed during the entire event.  Please keep Mark and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
