Dick was my friend.  I worked beside him at HQ, FORSCOM in 1975.  I learned from him.  He taught me without teaching.  I kept in touch with him as his success showed that others were similarly impressed.  He loved the Army and rarely missed a chance to wear the uniform with pride well into retirement.  I will miss his quite demeanor and his gentlemanly manner.  My deepest sympathy goes out to Pam.  Farewell my friend.  Until we meet again.  DD
