Ms. RAMEY, BOBBIE to TAPS

1728, 08 Oct 2016

Bobbie Ann Williamson Ramey was born June 27, 1938 at Canada, KY to the late Mack and Pauline (Hunt) Williamson. She passed from this earth on October 12, 2010. Her two brothers, Donald and Bruce Williamson; and a baby sister preceded her in death. Bobbie earned a Master's Degree from Purdue University and a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She spent 24 years as a military officer's wife and was grateful for the many life-long friends she met and places which they were able to visit. She cherished her Christian hillbilly heritage but her gypsy spirit always compelled her to seek new adventures and people. The highlight of that spirit was a trip to the Holy Land to "walk where Jesus walked." Bobbie's greatest happiness came from loving and nurturing others to become all God created them to be. She spent most of her life teaching young people and working with people with disabilities and training others in service to them. She was spiritual mentor to several young women, which she felt compelled to do because some beloved Christian women had mentored her for many years. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Col. (ret.) Hubert D. Ramey; son, Donald Ramey and wife Lynn; grandchildren, Bethany, Zachary, and Daniel Ramey; heart granddaughter, Grace Carpio. She also leaves her sister, Yvonne Wogoman; nieces, Robin Paeplow, Linda Floyd and Jennifer Follmer; nephew, Donald H. Williamson. She is survived by six great-nieces and two great-nephews and several "adopted kids" who had captured her heart and made her their own "Mom" or "Granny". A devout Christian, Bobbie was a member of the Keystone Christian Church.
