George Kellum

Received this from Russ Dowden concerning our friend, COL George Kellum. Please keep George and Julie in your thoughts and prayers:

All,
I am away  from home,  don't  have  my PC,  and am hijacking Roger's  Email Address to  get  a note to  everyone about our friend George Kellum.  George has been reluctant to let me spread  the word  about his health.   However,  I spoke with him today and he is  agreeable  to  letting all  know about  what he is going through.   The short of  it  is that  George has  been  diagnosed with colon cancer.  He has  had  both  surgery - fairly  extensive and,  I believe, pretty  much  the excision  of his colon - and chemotherapy and is  currently at home in Carmel,  Indiana  recovering from  both.   The  doctor's choice of chemo for  him  was  fairly stout and  George  did  not tolerate  it well.  In  the next few days  he  will travel to  Venice,  FL, his and  Julie's  winter home and undergo additional chemotherapy  treatments.   This  time the chemo  will be  less robust and he is hopeful it will  be tolerated  much more easily. 

That's  what  I know for  now  but, with George's  approval, I  will  keep everyone informed as I learn anything  new ...  russ  dowden
