Patricia Rose Vaughn

79, of Indianapolis, went home to be with her Lord May 31, 2017. She was born in Kokomo on May 11, 1938 to Agnes and Myron Morrison.Pat was a 1956 Kokomo High School graduate and went on to earn a 2 year associate degree in business from Ball State in 1958. She then came to Indianapolis to work at Eli Lilly as a medical secretary. She travelled throughout Central and South America, and North Africa while serving on the Project HOPE hospital ship. She later retired as an executive administrative assistant from the YMCA.

Pat met her future husband of 44 years, Jim, in Washington, DC, where Pat was living and working at the Project HOPE headquarters, and Jim was serving as deputy finance officer at Fort Belvoir, VA. They met on a blind date in the fall of 1972 and were married on November 10, 1973, at the Newman Center, Georgetown University. Pat and Jim were together as Jim's military career took them to Europe, St. Louis, MO, and Indianapolis, where they lived from 1983.Pat and Jim went on to have a daughter, Annelise Kristin Haag, on July 14, 1980 and later on a grandson, Graham Morrison Haag, on January 23, 2015.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Annelise (Robert) Haag; sisters, Anne (Tom) Wickens and Joan (Tom) Mulry; grandson, Graham; brother-in-law, John Vaughn; sister-in-law, Judy Burkett; and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and beloved dog, Madchen; as well as grand pets, Lilly and Nala.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities Christmas Store, where she was long-time volunteer (1400 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where Pat was a long-time member, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to begin there at 12 p.m.
