LTC WILBUR F. MASHBURN To TAPS

U.S. Army Retired Colonel Wilbur F. Mashburn, age 91, passed away on Friday February 10, 2017 in Rankin County, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM and again on Thursday February 16, 2017 from 12:30PM until 1:50PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 16, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Rev. Gary Glazier will officiate and Judge Joe Lee will deliver the Eulogy. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held in the Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Morton, MS. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements. 

Mr. Mashburn, born on April 22, 1925, made his home in Brandon, MS in 1973 after moving from Morton, MS. He was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church for eighty-one years. He faithfully served twenty-seven years in the United States Army, retiring in 1973. He was a 1950 graduate of the Mississippi State University and received his MBA at the Indiana University in 1960. Mr. Mashburn was a member of the Masons, the Heroes of '76, and a lifetime member of the MSU Alumni Association. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and loved his MSU Bulldogs. 

He was preceded in death by his sons, James and John B. Mashburn; two brothers, and one sister, J'Neal Loveless. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Mrs. Ruby Mashburn of Brandon, MS; one daughter, Margaret Nelson of Clinton, MS; one son, Frank Mashburn of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be members of the United States Army.
