Bill Rawley Status

Yesterday, I received COL Bill Rawley's note along with his ballot for the merger voting.  He had overlooked the yes/no and I called him up to ask him about the possible oversight.

He and I spent a lot of time on the phone, mostly me listening to his reminiscences over past duty assignments and finance officers.  You could tell that he was stilll very interested in the corps and curious about his old finance friends.  

He mentioned that his son, William F Rawley III is a retired reserve finance officer (who is not in RAFINO - yet!).  

He is 93 now and is legally blind, so he does/can not get on the web site.  He is in good health but, now that Dorothy has died, he is pretty lonely. He asked for - and I provoded him with - an officer roster and the TAPs listing (and included a membership application for his son).

Ever the optimist, Bill included with his note a check that will take his dues out to 2027!  Let's hope we are around in 2027 to remind him to re-up his dues status!

I believe he would be absolutely delighted if he were to get a phone call from any of his friends and old colleagues. His particulars are in his roster record (you can see them if you are logged in).
