Ernie Gregory - Prayer Request
1385, 12 Jun 2015Kevin Troller provided this update on Ernie Gregory. Please keep Ernie in your thoughts and prayers.
I have some news of concern about Ernie Gregory. Yesterday, his wife, Johanna Gregory, called me concerned about Ernie’s lack of memory, disconnected nature, and general quietness. As I was blessed to have Mr. Gregory as my mentor for the last 10 years of my career, including being his XO in the Pentagon, I wanted to talk to him myself. While he was pleasant, it was clear his memory was suffering and there were many things he didn’t seem to understand. I encouraged Mrs. Gregory to push their doctor for more testing to see what was going on. Mrs. Gregory called me backtonight to report that an MRI revealed a brain tumor. They will be talking with the doctors more this week to see if surgery is possible, and if so, when.
I asked Mrs. Gregory if I could tell RAFINO so we could have our Finance community praying for Mr. Gregory, and she said Yes. So I share this with all of you, and Robby, ask you to use the words you feel appropriate for our membership. While Mr. Gregory was a civilian, and in fact an Air Force officer before joining the Army as a civilian …. I don’t know of anyone that contributed more to our mission and to the thousands of people he invested in throughout his and our careers. As his XO, I had the honor of seeing all he did from his desk in the Pentagon, with leaders from all Services and DFAS … Generals, SES, and Soldiers and Civilians of all ranks and grade. To see him in the field with deployed troops and to listen to his countless stories during presentations was a joy. His gregarious and energetic style was captivating. I pray God’s will is to restore Mr. Gregory to complete health. I also pray for all the doctors, nurses, and administrators that will be serving Mr. Gregory. May God work through all of them !!!
