Update from Dick Shaffer

Thanks Jim Martens for your message and Robby for passing it along.

 

This year Kay and I will not be able to attend due to the third weekend in October is always the large Scottish Highland Games at Stone Mountain.  This year is the 43d annual games and I have been working with the committee over 20 years. 

 

Over 110 Scottish Clan Associations and Societies attend and some years there is over 650 Pipers and Drummers from bands in and out of the US are on the field at one time.  It takes a full week to build the games and get ready.

 

By the end of Sunday I have to admit I have had my fill of Bagpipe music for awhile.

Just haven't been able to find the `MacShaffer' Clan!!!

 

Will miss seeing old friends (not old as in age!)
