Tacoma, Washington>

September 9 -11, 2010>

The Reunion 2010 Planning Committee is dedicated to making your visit to the Northwest and attendance at the reunion as rewarding, interesting and entertaining as possible.  To assist us in accomplishing that we have selected a number of sites and activities which we feel would be of great interest to most visitors.  Due to the short period of the reunion we would not be able to visit all of them as a large group.  Please review the list and select two items which you would be most interested in and a third item as an alternate. We will then review your selections and pick the two with the greatest interest and set them up as group activities/tours.  In addition we will have a third activity, which will be scheduled on Friday afternoon and evening, and will be our prime event other than the banquet.  >

  1. LeMay Car Museum - The Lemay family has the largest private collection of cars in the country and the collection will be showcased in a premier facility.   www.lemaymuseum.org
  2. Port of Tacoma – This is one of the largest port operations on the west coast as well as one of the most advanced.    www.portoftacoma.org
  3. Boeing Museum of Flight – An awesome display of aircraft dating from the beginning of the age of flight.  A walk-thru of a retired Concorde SST is included as well as a spectacular display of war time aircraft.   www.museumofflight.com
  4. Pike Place Market/Seattle Underground – Longest continually operating market in the country.  Shops and outlets are located on two levels.   www.pikeplacemarket.org
  5. University of Washington Tacoma Campus – A unique blend of the old and new, the campus was built in an area that was composed of old warehouse buildings.  None were torn down but rather were renovated while keeping the flavor of the original use of the building along with several modern new buildings which blend in.  The university received several awards and write-ups in various publications.   www.tacoma.washington.edu
  6. Mount Ranier – Highest peak in the lower 48 west of the Rockies   www.nps.gov/mora

To all RAFINCO and RAFINO members: WWII VETERANS

The 2010 Reunion Planning Committee wants to honor all surviving Finance Corps World War II Veterans at our final banquet on September 11, 2010.  I know some of you are WWII Vets and others know of people who are.  Membership in RAFINCO/RAFINO is not required, only that they be members of the Finance Corps.  Some of you/them may not have been in Finance during the war but later transferred to the Corps which is okay.  We want to honor all of you/them.  We also realize that some will not be able to attend because of health and other issues  Our plan is to recognize each of them whether or not they are present at the Reunion and banquet.  Please assist us by sending any information to me at:  william.tolbert@comcast.net>  If you nave other information or items you wish to submit you can mail it to me at:  William Tolbert, 2218 Railway Circle, Gold River, CA  95670.  Thank you for any and all assistance in this vital and important endeavor.
